•        Coordinator for Smart Commute Program, 2005 and 2006: included bicycle
commuting classes, corporate challenge, festivals, parade, & awards.

•        Grant contractor for Ingham County Health Department’s “Moving Our
Communities Toward Health” Project, 2005-2006.

•        Attended 2006 MDOT Training: Designing Streets for Pedestrian Safety.

•        Member, Ingham County Land Use and Health Team, 2005 and 2006.

•        Helped organize February 28, 2006 Land Use and Health Conference in East
Lansing, co-facilitated transportation diaologue sessions.

•        Participant, Northwest Lansing Food Systems Committee, 2004 and 2005.

•        Participant at “Creating Healthy, Livable Communities Conference” in East
Lansing, 2004 and 2005. (Included presentations from Dan Burden & other national
leaders active community design.)

•        Participant at 2003 and 2004 Michigan Cool Cities Conferences.

•        Coordinated community and business forums on the social, economic, and other
benefits of trails & greenways – Lansing area, 2003.

•        Kalamazoo College Coursework: Senior Seminar in Environmental Studies,
Creating Sustainable Cities.
   
     Employed readings, discussions, guest speakers, and tours of projects in the City
of Kalamazoo to learn about new urbanism, brownfield redevelopment using
bioremediation, Kalamazoo’s Superfund sites, urban agriculture, and more.
